ow you can easily visit the King's Road by bike. The King's Road cycling routes are ready-made routes from Helsinki to west and east with a list of accommodation. Along the route, you will enjoy beautiful rural scenes, coastal views and idyllic towns, as well as nice accommodations for cyclists along the route within 30-50 Ks. Most accommodations are Bed & Breakfasts or cottages but you will also find some hotels included as well. Most places offer breakfast and some will provide dinner if you make a reservation.
Suggested routes for the King`s Road:
1) The tour along the King`s Road from Helsinki to the eastern border with a total length oh about 245 km is suitable for cycling enthusiasts and even for slightly inexperienced cyclist. Accommodation is available at regular intervals and the daily cycling distances can de adjusted according to the condition of the cyclist.
2) The tour along the King` Road to the eastern border and back to Helsinki through Anjalankoski and Kouvola is suitable for the wandering cyclist. The total length of the route is about 500 km.
The Western route starts in Helsinki and continues via Espoo to Siuntio, Lohja, Mustio, Karjaa, Pohja, Tammisaari, and Inkoo and goes back to Helsinki via Kirkkonummi. You can order a special King's Road map for cyclist in Western Uusimaa (Western part of the Helsinki Region).
The Eastern route starts in Helsinki via the parish of Sotunki in Vantaa to Sipoo, Porvoo, Pernaja, Loviisa, Ruotsinpyhtää, Liljendal, Elimäki, Artjärvi, Pukkila, Askola and the route leads via Porvoo back to Helsinki
